1st Brigade Soldier Killed by Enemy Fire in Afghanistan
Army Sgt. Nicholas C. Fredsti Died In Spedar, Afghanistan
Another Fort Bragg paratrooper was killed in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Sunday.
Sgt. Nicholas C. Fredsti, 30, died Friday in Spedar, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire, the Department of Defense reported.
Fredsti was assigned to 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. and was from San Diego.
Fredsti joined the Army in August, 2000 and was on his sixth deployment overseas and was promoted to Staff Sergeant after his death.
Fredsti is survived by his father and mother, Carl and Sherry Fredsti of San Diego.
