5 Things for This Week
Two big concerts, baseball, a 5k/10k run and turtle happenings this week.
Gang of Outlaws Tour, June 2 at Fort Bragg. The concert venue, sponsored by Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) features Gretchen Wilson, 3 Doors Down and ZZ Top. Tickets are $30 thru June 1. Day of show tickets will be $35 each. Prior to day of show tickets will be available for purchase at www.fortbraggmwr.com; a $3.50 convenience fee will be added. Tickets may be purchased the day of the show at the Fort Bragg Fairgrounds box office beginning at 5pm. Ages 2 and under are free; everyone else must have a ticket to gain admittance. Bring blankets and lawn chairs, but no outside food and drinks are permitted. Food and drinks will be sold by vendors.
Swamp Dogs Baseball on Wednesday May 30, 2012 at J.P. Riddle Stadium, 7:05p.m. Come out to "The Swamp" and join the fun! The Swamp Dogs are Fayetteville's own Collegiate Summer Baseball league.
Annual 5k/10k "Run for Your Legend" at the Airborne & Special Operations Museum downtown Fayetteville. The run is held on Saturday, June 2 at 8 a.m.
Mercy Me in concert, June 1 in Southern Pines. The award-winning Christian group will headline Onward and Upward 2012, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Pinecrest High School football stadium
This is the sixth year for this event that brings all of the community together to pay tribute to the accomplishments of the graduating seniors from Pinecrest, Union Pines, North Moore, area private schools and the home-schooled.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and the concert will begin with Be.Do.Tell as the opening act, followed by a full concert from MercyMe.
General admission tickets are on sale for $18, online at moore4jesus.com. Tickets may also be purchased at the Aberdeen First Baptist Church; Southern Pines First Baptist; Southern Pines Methodist; Good News Church, in Carthage; Crockett, Oldham, Pope and Denadio, in Southern Pines; First Bank, in Robbins; Russell's Seafood, in Southern Pines; and The Carpenter Shop, in Sanford.
Nature Tales: On Turtle's Back, Saturday, June 2, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at 536 N Eastern Blvd. The FREE event is a natural science topic presented through a story and craft time for Little Bloomers (ages 2-6), siblings are welcome.
FREE but limit of fifteen (15) children per session.
Reservation is required PRIOR to attendance.

Don't forget about the theater's annual Blues N Brews Festival downtown. $15 for all the beer samples and food.

Thanks Elizabeth, actually I found out tickets for non-drinkers are $15, all others are $30, $35 or $50 for early birds. It's a first class venue each year with souvenir glasses.
