Body of Female Found in Cape Fear River

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating the death of an unidentified female.
Fayetteville Police initially responded to a 911 call at around 1:00 p.m. from a source who reported seeing a body floating in the Cape Fear River at Campbellton Landing according to Debbie Tanna, Public Information Officer.
Sheriff Detectives have assumed the investigation and will send the body to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Chapel Hill for autopsy and positive identification.
The body is not believed to be that of Kelli Bordeaux, a Fort Bragg soldier whose disappearance is being investigated by Fayetteville Police.
