As for carving kit options, there's a popular 17-piece set which includes five tools and 12 patterns. This inexpensive kit is sold at most major retailers and is reusable for years to come.

Here are some safe and fun carving tips:Carefully cut off the pumpkin top by using one of the given saws. Then, use the scraper and your hand to get the goo out. If you want to make a tasty treat, be sure to save the seeds for later.  After your pumpkin is scraped dry, it’s time to prep. There’s one of two ways you can do this--either transfer the pattern onto the pumpkin or trace it yourself by using a non-permanent pen. You can either poke through the pumpkin and pop out the pieces or if you’re brave, head right for the saw and start cutting!

After you follow the pattern, pop all the pieces out appropriately and show your pumpkin off!
