Fresh Mexican fare and a fresh salsa bar keeps customers returning
Over in Spring Lake in the strip mall sits one of the best kept secrets for fresh salsas and Mexican fare. How about Spicy Pumpkin salsa or Jalapeno Tomatillo salsa to mix it up a bit?
The menu offers typical Mexican food dishes, but small nuances like garnishes on each dish and uniquely distinct ingredients give this restaurant 'two forks up'.
I ordered the spinach enchiladas and also sampled the avacado stuffed burrito. Both chock full of flavor and seasonings and of course cheese. The portions served on colorful plates were plentiful.
Rather than standard chips and salsa, they bring a hot bean dip to the table. The creamy bean dip is spicy and served hot with warm chips.
During the lunch hour, the large restaurant located near the back gate of Fort Bragg is packed with service members and offers plenty of space to accommodate larger parties.
Salsas and Beer has been open at 231 Skyland Plaza nearly 10 months and should do well against other local more frequented Mexican hot spots. Although you cannot order a margarita, the fresh food and great price is worth the trip.
