Fort Bragg's Same-Sex Spouse Claims 2 Victories

Ashley Broadway has two reasons to celebrate this weekend.

Last month brought news of the Fort Bragg Officer Spouse's Club denying admission to a same-sex spouse, Ashley Broadway.

On Friday, Jan. 25, Broadway's name was revealed as Fort Bragg's Military Spouse of the Year to represent the Army Branch, alongside other military spouses vying for the title sponsored by Military Spouse Magazine.

Broadway won the title through online voting and will now advance to the Army spouse of the year and military spouse of the year competitions.

As fate would have it, hours after the announcement, Fort Bragg's OSC sent out a statement offering Broadway and other same-sex spouses with certified marriage certificates full membership to the club.

According to a Stars and Stripes news report Broadway said she was “overjoyed” to see the club has now included sexual orientation in their non-discrimination clause, and said she will complete her application to become a full member of the club.

“I have further reason to take pride in the Ft. Bragg military community, knowing that we, as military spouses, are able to come together to support each other, our soldiers, and our families,” Broadway said in a written statement.

"Broadway won the title through online voting and will now advance to the Army spouse of the year and military spouse of the year competitions." As if this political stunt was not obvious enough, It is not hard for an on-line effort to be waged by the queer community. How can they compete when their lesbian marriage is not even recognized by the state or military. Another victory for the radical left wing agenda being powered by the present administration. This is just the first step on the road to giving these immoral individuals total equality and sharing in the benefits that should never be given to them and kept for only those legally deserving servicemembers and "real" spouses. The initial attack was allowing the medical coverage and dependent status to 26 year olds. Add these Class "B" dependents into the already crammed medical system and you will never get into a clinic when your sick. I am sure LTC Mack is now on the fast track since any pass-over will now be viewed as negativity for her lack of moral terpitude, regardless on her poor performance by being a practicing lesbian before the act was repealed. She can safely go buy those stars now as her carreer is in the bag...

Agreed. Next will be a requirement in the annual performance rating to show that his/her same sex performance is of high quality. For gays (lesbians are gay aren't they??) it will a sho-in as their raters will have no choice but to give them the highest rating or be called bigots. The whole thing as become close to playing the race card everytime something is not to their liking. shame on them all

Also agree with both of you. Keeping the site to vote handy as I am sure there are plenty of really great hard working ladies to vote for !
