It's Duck Derby Time Again in Fayetteville

A 31 Day Salute event

This Saturday the second annual Duck Derby takes place at noon on Campbellton Landing. Watch 15,000 to 20,000 rubber ducks race down the Cape Fear River to benefit Fayetteville Urban Ministry and several other local non-profits. The free venue is full of food, vendors, live entertainment, and prizes.

Supporters have been adopting a duck for $5 through the Duck Derby website and at many local restaurants. Each adoption has a registration number that is tagged on a duck. On Saturday, the ducks will race down the Cape Fear River after being dumped off the bridge from a bulldozer. The owner of the first duck to cross the finish line wins the grand prize. The following four ducks will also also receive prizes.
