It's Raining Cats and Dogs

The Fort Bragg Animal Control and Adoption Center is full of cats.

You might not be able to save nine lives, but how about one? The Fort Bragg animal shelter and adoption facility had 45 kittens and cats as of Friday in need of some tender loving care.

Animal control on Fort Bragg is responsible for picking up stray animals and attempting to find their owners. While most house pets can be traced with a microchip or a collar with their owners' information, there are plenty of pets out there with no identifying information.

If you have recently lost a pet, check with the shelter first. After three days they turn over the animals for adoption. The animals will be kept at the facility, based on space availability, for 14 days.

Just assigned Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders to Germany and don't want to take your four cats along? Please don't turn them loose in the neighborhood, especially in the extreme heat.

Pets can be surrendered to the facility and can find love and safety in another home. Without exception, your pet must be current on all vaccinations and have a microchip. Additionally, vaccination records must be in hand at the time of surrender.
