Local Woman Charged with Child Abuse

Two-year-old in stroller left in middle of road

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives have charged a Fayetteville woman with child abuse and drunk and disorderly conduct.

52-year old Briggnette Lynette McDonald of 2925 Singletree Lane was arrested Friday, March 30, 2012.

Investigators say McDonald was walking in the middle of Crystal Springs Road pushing a two-year-old child in a stroller, when she became involved in an argument with passing bicyclists.  McDonald allegedly left the child in the middle of the road in the stroller while she yelled at the bicyclists according to Debbie Tanna, Cumberland County Public Information Officer in a recent press release.
