Patricia Sherman is one tough mother. She is a Gold Star widow and mother to her sweet little toddler, a spitting image of her father, Sgt. Benjamin Sherman. On November 10, 2009 Sherman died in Afghanistan after jumping into the river to save a colleague who was also swept away by the current. The two soldiers were trying to retrieve airdropped supplies from a river in western Afghanistan.
