Man Suspected of N.C. Bank Robberies Arrested in Hinesville

Thomas A. Hammond, suspected in 2 Charlotte-area bank robberies, was arrested in Hinesville Monday.

 

Law enforcement officials in Hinesville arrested a man suspected of two bank robberies in Charlotte, according to a Savannah Morning News report.

Thomas A. Hammond, 46, was arrested at the EconoLodge motel on Highway 84 by personnel from the U.S. Marshals Service, the Liberty County Sheriff's Department and the Hinesville Police Department. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department believes Hammond robbed two banks in North Carolina in August and September.

Hammond had been working on Fort Stewart at the time of his arrest, according to the Morning News. He was taken to Liberty County Jail to await extradition to North Carolina.

For those that don't know Hinesville is in Georgia. Seems the article omits that info.
