Businesses plan to capitalize on the Democratic National Convention this week in Charlotte, including one business from South Carolina.

The Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau hired The Sandtastics to promote tourism at Myrtle Beach with their amazing creation. In January, at the state GOP convention in Myrtle Beach, a similar sculpture depicted the Republican candidates. See video and photos from that sand castle.

Completed in three days, five sculptors used 15 and a half tons of sand from South Carolina beaches to build the Obama project. Finishing touches of red and blue spray paint were put on last.

The sculpture is located outside the entrance of the EpiCentre, at 210 E. Trade St. below the covered walkway of The Plaza Commons on S. College Street.

BHO had the fake Greek Columns in Denver, now he has this sculpture - when will he erect something permanent and enduring to celebrate his narcissism similar to the edifice Saddam had in Baghdad or the granite statue that Joe Stalin put in Prague as an 'enduring gift' to the Czech people.

If he is the man-god he thinks himself to be, then he should begin preparing for his journey through the centuries.

um, that's Myrtle Beach CVB that paid for the sand sculpture. They paid for the ones of Republican candidates earlier this year, too.

Did you just liken Obama to Stalin and Saddam Hussein?

Don't worry. There will be an Obama Monument Committee formed to build the newest and likely biggest monument in DC. I predict it will be larger than the Lincoln or Jefferson Memorials. Streets will be renamed in every city that hearkens to the call of big government but tell us its just because he broke the "racial" ceiling in this horribly oppressive system run by "the man". The propaganda value of guilt is will always be worth its weight in expropriations, enslaving all to the economic servitude of the all-powerful state! Mark my words, I know how these people work. You have seen the increasing cost of "running" the government. We the people have less while our "servant" government reaps the rewards in power and further controls. Collectivism and centralization will be our undoing!

The President and Nancy Pelosi support the Occupy movement openly. They must support this then:

No Greek columns this time around. Dog meat will be served between speaking events at a small cost.

You mean those columns that were provided by the stadium so there could be something for folks to stand behind and a location to store stuff that might be needed for the next speakers? Tooter, you're making your troll status easy to identify with your comments and 'links'

Axelrod calls the RNC a failure. He should be able to recognize "failure" because his boss and his agenda are proof:

@TaterSalad

ironic tater's link 'weasel-z' mentioned goebbels father of the GOP big lie tactic...
that said,

i dont agree with axelrod. the GOP convention was a huge success...for the DEMs...besides the empty chair distraction/humor...it made the big lies of the GOPs painfully obvious...

@Jim Aspen

lets see what nov brings...

BTW

a MITTer win would set our country up for another 1929/2008 disaster as MITT/GOP policies are the same failed, unregulated, free market, trickle UP, voodoo, economic policies...

the kockbros-ilk would have bought your and our country's soul...

perhaps you can give hope a MITT election would not be another 1929/2008 debacle...ie, how are MITT's policies different from W's and hoover's...

@Jim Aspen: '...These fools are responsible for this and will not stop. Vote them OUT.

know you know better and certainly you didn't mean to imply DEMs were responsible for the total $16T

fiscal 2000: debt $ 7.0T
fiscal 2009: debt $11.9T (fiscal 09 W's budget)
DIFF: $ 4.9T added by W

so under BO $4.1T added...too much but not $16T...to imply BO/DEMs resp for $16T is disingenuous and dishonest...

and know we havent forgotten GOP policies lead to the great 2008 recession...and as in 1929, DEM policies of spending (aka investment) were required to prime the pump (eg, save detroit).

also least we forget there were budget surpluses under slick willie...ie, we were on the path to debt reduction...then along comes W ... goodbye surpluses...hello trickleUP (tax cuts for rich folks).

opine: if there had been no bush tax cuts there would have been no recession and no need for the current spending (investment) to get USA outta ditch dug by GOPs.

kinda hard to know who the fools are without a program...

and here's another troll theme - first, use data they hope no one knows in depth (like, for example, a quarter of that debt is private debt - your mortgage, car note and student loan, and over $4 billion in assets of the US are counted as debt...); then try to overlook the fact that republican presidents (mostly W) are responsible for 80% of it.

Ask any, I mean any liberal if they are better off than they were four years ago! Ask for a simple yes or no, not a rambling spin answer that they will try to give you to "deflect" the question and answer. They can not and will not answer your question because they know, deep down that Barack Obama, their hero, has failed them.

@TaterSalad

YES, i am better off...

and so is the USA...eg, to name a few 'better offs:'

1. 4 years ago losing jobs; now gaining jobs
2. 4 years ago DJI at 6-7000; now at 12-13000
3. 4 years no equal pay for women; now leadbetter act,,,

[CLIP] Barack Obama ran for president in 2008 based in part on the promise that he would restore America’s standing in the world, and a new Gallup poll released today shows that he has done just that. Respondents in 100 countries were surveying and the United States was the most popular world power at 47%. This is a roughly 14% increase in America’s global standing since the Bush administration.

Yes, I am better off. We in middle class and lower got a tax break, too. Sad that the GOP wants to permanently extend the temporary tax cuts to the super-wealth and geocorporations.

@John Schafer: '...win over delusional people...the Jackass Whisperer'

the delusioned people have already been won over, they have been won over (hood winked,conned) by the kockbro-ilk...deluded they believe they are the 1%...

they are GOPs voting against their self-interest and the general welfare of our country...voting for another 1929/2008 disaster...that said:

this delusioned person could be won over if anyone could tell me how MITT/GOP policies are different than those of 2008 GWB/GOP...that didn't WORK!!!...THAT DIDNT/WONT WORK.

@John Schafer: '...ravings...'

you confuse raving with a simple request for facts (do you have any)...ie/eg..

repeating: what are the differences between MITT, GWB, and hoover failed GOP policies...a non answer indicates there are none...

GOP, no reg, free market, voodoo economics, have not...do not work.

as a seemly true believer in GOP, m.friedman, atheist ayn (p.ryan), philosophies you must have an opine, if not facts...

care to post your opine...
