VIDEO: Obama Sand Sculpture Likeness at DNC

Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau promotes tourism at Charlotte's DNC.

Businesses plan to capitalize on the Democratic National Convention this week in Charlotte, including one business from South Carolina.

The Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau hired The Sandtastics to promote tourism at Myrtle Beach with their amazing creation. In January, at the state GOP convention in Myrtle Beach, a similar sculpture depicted the Republican candidates.

Completed in three days, five sculptors used 15 and a half tons of sand from South Carolina beaches to build the Obama project. Finishing touches of red and blue spray paint were put on last.
