Roadwork Closes Portion of Chesapeake Road for 30 days

Repairs could affect route for Fort Bragg commuters.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 1, a portion of Chesapeake Road will be closed for road maintenance for at least 30 days. The roadwork will include, but is not limited to, culvert replacement.

The portion that will be closed is near Anson Pond, closest to the McArthur Road entrance between Anson Drive and Hidden Valley Drive.

Anyone using Anson Drive, Carteret Place, and Shoreline Drive can enter on McArthur Road.

Anyone using Hidden Valley Drive, Waterbury Drive, and Farmview Drive can enter on Stacy Weaver Drive.

“We advise motorists to use caution in the Chesapeake Road area during this road closure and ask that they utilize the proper entrances to minimize traffic issues,” said Rusty Thompson, City Traffic Engineer. “We appreciate our citizens’ patience as crews work on Chesapeake Road.”
