SwoopThat Helps Students Save a Bundle on Textbooks

College savings alert!

The average college student spends anywhere from 500 to 900 dollars on textbooks alone and these costs can add up to 25 percent of students’ total tuition at a four year university. SwoopThat is an online company that can help alleviate approximately 75 percent of those book costs in about 10 minutes, saving you time and money.

SwoopThat is based out of San Diego, California and is run by recent college graduates, Jonathan “Jonny” Simkin, CEO and Founder, Benjamin “Ben” Carson, Vice President of Business Development and Founder, Kevin King, Director of Technology, Dan Holloran, Data Whisperer, and Zorro, the company’s dog and Chief Motivational Officer.

SwoopThat’s computer technology helps students save on the immense costs of textbooks by finding the lowest cost for all of students’ assigned texts through various online resources. Employees can also find any other texts online so long as they have the books’ ISBN. SwoopThat’s busiest times of year are during the August, September, and January months when the Fall and Spring semesters are getting started.

“Students are pretty much going to find the lowest prices they can because we include all the sellers on our site,” said Simkin.
