Putting  a spin on “Christmas in July”, Greater Fayetteville United encourages members of the public to support a few community organizations who need supplies to continue their missions during the summer months.

These community agencies seek items in order to meet the needs of the many that they serve. Greater Fayetteville United is asking for your support to make this summer season a more enjoyable time of the year. If you and/or your business/organization is able to provide assistance with the needed items, monetary donations or in-kind services please contact them

Operation In As Much http://faoiam.org/  is seeking electric wheel chairs to provide to homeless and at risk veterans. Some have manual wheelchairs that are taxing to handle in summer heat

Operation Blessing http://www.operationblessingfayetteville.org/  is looking for baby diapers and wipes, strollers and other baby items and non-perishable food stuffs

The Bicycle Man Community Outreach Projects bikes4kids2@gmail.com needs tools, standing tool box, bike parts, bike helmets, work benches and office equipment

Greater Fayetteville United asks that individuals and companies in our community show the holiday spirit when giving is easy  This spirit of giving can work to the advantage of some of our other community groups if you do a little special shopping. Some of the items needed can be purchased at second hand shops sponsored by Goodwill, The Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore and Hope Harbor.  If done in this manner your money will double in support of our community organizations. Of course there are other groups and agencies that may be preferred by you, so please take the time to ask what they may be looking for right now.

The mission of Greater Fayetteville United is to enhance the quality of life for all utilizing education, cooperation, and empowerment. Our goals are to identify needs and issues considered vital to the community, to bring people to the table and create a community-wide dialogue, to mobilize organizations and people within the community to address these quality-of-life issues, and to promote inclusiveness for all members of the Fayetteville-Cumberland County area.
