Scam Jam: Fort Bragg Learns About Consumer Fraud

North Carolina’s Attorney General, Roy Cooper, hosted a Scam Jam event to speak with Fort Bragg service members and spouses on Tuesday, Sept. 24 about ways to avoid becoming a victim of consumer fraud.

Cooper, along with experts from the state’s Consumer Protection Division, offered tips on how military consumers can avoid common scams and protect themselves from unscrupulous businesses. The Scam Jam will focused on identity theft, credit and lending, and automobiles, areas which generate many questions and complaints.

This event was part of a series of visits to military installations in North Carolina. In May, Cooper made a similar visit to Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville and in July, paid a similar visit to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.
