Bugle Ceremony Shows Solidarity Between Fort Bragg Post and Community

Kick-off Fourth Friday with a bugle ceremony led by Army Ground Forces Band trumpet player Staff Sgt. Frank T. Briscoe.

Visit the Fayetteville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau located at 245 Person Street in Fayetteville on Friday, June 22 for the Fourth Friday kick-off event. Army Ground Forces Band trumpet player Staff Sgt. Frank T. Briscoe will be performing a bugle ceremony at 5:15 p.m.

The Fayetteville Fire Department Honor Guard will be lowering the flag for the weekend as Briscoe plays "Retreat" and "To The Colors." The ceremony is timed to occur simultaneously with a similar ceremony at Fort Bragg and demonstrates solidarity between the post and the community.

This monthly bugle ceremony was started in May of 2012. John Meroski, FACVP President and CEO stated in a press release, "We're proud to honor our military history and our community’s support of the military with this monthly tribute.”   Pictures of the May 2012 ceremony are available online.

The Fourth Friday celebration is free and occurs monthly on the fourth Friday (except in November and December) in downtown Fayetteville. During the event businesses and galleries within a four and a half block of downtown feature arts in all forms for all ages.
