Hope Mills Boy Dies in Fatal ATV Accident

Investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives say an ATV accident has claimed the life of an 11-year old boy.

Ayed (Ah-Yeed) Alsaiti (Al-Sigh-Ee-Dee), 900 block of Ramblegate Road, from Hope Mills died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center shortly after 7:30 P.M. on Sunday, October 14, 2012.

Alsaiti and his family were visiting friends at 6501 Barbour Lake Road in Hope Mills, when the accident happened. He and another child were riding the ATV when the driver lost control of the vehicle and Alsaiti was fatally injured. Alsaiti was not wearing a helmet.

Alsaiti’s body will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
