30-Year-Old Woman Fled the Scene of Fatal Hit and Run, Faces Multiple Charges

On Sunday, September 22, 2013 at approximately 8:05 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a Hit and Run traffic collision involving a pedestrian on Pamalee Drive at the Blanton Road intersection. As a result of the collision, a female subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers have located the vehicle involved in the fatal collision and taken a person into custody.

Officers have identified the deceased pedestrian as Cynthia Beasley, 55, of 1124 Pamalee Drive. The investigation revealed that Cynthia Beasley was crossing Pamalee Drive near the Blanton Road intersection, when she was struck by a Chevrolet Sports Utility Vehicle driven by Elizabeth Robinson, 30.

Once Beasley had been struck by the vehicle, Robinson drove away from the scene and was located by police officers at 3244 Green Valley Road. Robinson was taken into custody and has been charged with the following offenses:

• Felonious Hit & Run
• Driving While Impaired
• Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Elizabeth Robinson was transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where she was processed and received an unsecured bond. The Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit continues to investigate the fatal collision and additional charges may be forthcoming.
