Death Investigation Underway
Fatal injury led to David Lee Covington's death while in surgery.
Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating an early morning stabbing death following a domestic dispute in Fayetteville.
David Lee Covington, 36, of 2010 Smith Road, died during surgery to repair his wound at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say Covington had gone to the home of 33-year old Victor Alexander Iwanski of 3612 Oakland Avenue, at 4:30 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013. An argument ensued at the home, resulting in the fatal injury of Covington.
The investigation is continuing at this time.
