Identity of Suspect in Armed Robbery Sought

Detectives continue to request public's assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for the armed robbery of Family Dollar on September 24, 2013.

Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon

On Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at approximately 9:20 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the Family Dollar located at 4112 Raeford Road in reference to a report of an armed robbery. The investigation revealed that an unknown black male entered the business and began perusing the store, before bringing merchandise to the front counter. While the clerk began to total the items, the suspect presented a handgun and demanded that the clerk relinquish money from the business. The suspect obtained an undetermined amount of money from the business and was last observed fleeing on foot.

Please pay close attention to the surveillance images obtained from the business, as the suspect is possibly wearing a wig underneath a baseball style cap. Additionally, the suspect was described as a:

• Black Male
• 6’00 in height
• Wearing
o Black long sleeve shirt
o Black pants
o Navy / White baseball cap
o Black Shoes
