Local Businesses Targeted for Fraud Scam

The Fayetteville Police Department has recently received reports of a potential fraud making rounds in the business community.

The reports suggest that a subject approaches businesses to solicit funds for advertisement in a publication to be posted at area golf courses. The suspect has since failed to create the publications and additionally will not answer return emails or telephone calls. Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are currently investigating the fraudulent activity and seeking to identify any additional victims.

If you have come in contact with this suspect or paid for an advertisement that has gone unfulfilled, please contact Detective J. Kelly with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856.
