Soldier Defends Himself with Gun in Home Invasion

Recently a rash of home break-ins have been occurring in Fayetteville. Friday, June 1, Michael A. Pistner, of Whitechapel Road, in the Rockfish area of Fayetteville had his home broken into around 4:45p.m.

According to Hoke County Sheriff, Hubert Peterkin, the soldier was in his residence when the back door of his house was kicked in. Pistner then fired a handgun at the three intruders, wounding Gregory Paul Lowrie, 21.

Lowrie was taken to where he remained in critical condition  and has yet to be charged, Peterkin said.

Samuel Arthur Bernard Sweeney, 19, of Cambridge Arms apartments in Fayetteville, is charged with breaking and entering and conspiracy to commit larceny with bail set at $500,000, according Peterkin.

Sweeney was a graduate of in Fayetteville.

It is not known if the home had a home security system.

The home had aheck of a security system! One of our brave, alert solders armed with a firearm he was trained to use!

How stupid do ya gotta be to break into a soldiers house... they are trained to use guns and fight.
