Former 82nd Paratrooper Appointed to Board of Directors, Operation Supply Drop

The non-profit charity sends video game care packages upwards of more than $1,800 per package to troops in Afghanistan.

Military gaming charity Operation Supply Drop  announced that Mark Christianson, owner and Executive Editor, Off Duty Gamers, was appointed to the organizations Board of Directors effective July 4, 2012.

As an independent director of the organization, Christianson will serve as military relations adviser. As the lead of a respected all-military staffed video game consulting and media company as well as prior service paratrooper of the US Army 82nd Airborne Division, Christianson is well positioned to link video game industry members with the game playing members of the military and advise the board regarding charitable works performed by Operation Supply Drop.  

The non-profit charity designed around sending video game filled care packages to troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. To date, OSD has raised $55,000 in games and gear, sending 24 care packages, averaging over $1,800 per package. Operation Supply Drop was founded by Stephen Machuga, a former Army Captain and Airborne Ranger.

"Mark's enthusiasm and drive to reward the sacrifice of service to one's country will further strengthen and create new strategies for growth within Operation Supply Drop's core value and areas of focus." said Stephen Machuga, President of Operation Supply Drop and former Army Captain. "We are looking forward to benefiting from the insight and connections that he has forged as part of his own endeavors at Off Duty Gamers and we welcome him to the board."

Christianson currently leads Off Duty Gamers, an online company focused on active and prior service members of the military delivering expert military consulting, relevant gaming news, reviews and a sense of community, reflecting the collective bond of military service and unique military point of view.
