Post Office Sets Deadlines for Military Holiday Mail

Packages must be shipped by certain dates to ensure delivery before Christmas.

The U.S. Postal Service and the Military Postal Service Agency have set mailing deadlines for the holiday season, according to an Army News Service report. The deadlines are to help ensure that packages mailed to military and State Department post offices overseas arrive before Dec. 25.

The deadlines are Nov. 12 for parcel-post mail, Nov. 26 for space-available mail, Dec. 3 for parcel airlift mail, Dec. 10 for priority and first-class mail, letters and cards, and Dec. 17 for express mail military service, according to the report.

Customers should bear in mind that not all military or State Department post offices are eligible for express mail military service, the report stated.
