See You at the Pole, Across the Nation This Morning

Who says you can't pray at school? Today you can.

This morning, students across Cumberland County elementary, middle and high schools in Fayetteville will gather outside the public schools to pray.

The student led global event that began in 1990 is a grass roots movement that started with ten students praying at their school, around the flagpole. Twenty years later, millions pray on their campuses on the fourth Wednesday every September.

See You at the Pole is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school hours to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God.

"I just prayed for our teachers, leaders and other students - hoping it's a good year, no violence," said Maura, a sixth grade student at Max Abbott Middle School. "I heard about it through our church, and I go every year."
