Photos from Uganda Mission Trip

Going on a mission trip or humanitarian assistance trip this summer? Post your photos on Patch.

I recently traveled to Uganda on a short-term mission trip with Hands4Uganda. Hands4Uganda is a non-profit organization that supports Rock of Ages School located in Mbiko, Uganda a poverty-ridden suburb of Jinja, Uganda. Located out of Pocatello, Idaho, Hands4Uganda raises funds to help provide each student at the school with food and clean water, educational opportunities, life-skills and Biblical training. I was one of six who traveled to Uganda for the ten-day trip. Though six of us physically traveled to Uganda, the love and support of many from the United States traveled with us in the bags we carried—including Fort Bragg.

Several soldiers, spouses, veterans and civilians of the Fort Bragg and Fayetteville communities assisted in constructing bags with school supplies, clothes, and small gifts. With the support of the volunteers at Fort Bragg, and others across the United States, we were able to bring additional supplies for the teachers and give each child a new set of clothes. Thank you to everyone who supported this initiative.

Local groups and organizations are taking international mission trips in the upcoming months; a few are listed below. Click on the links to learn more.
