My family and I (military) rented from this company for 19 months. The "owner", Ed, and Sherril were not so pleasant. The neighborhood we rented in was EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. Roaming pitbulls, gun shots every night, and each of my surrounding neighbors had break-ins, including my home. I walked in on my house being burgled and we immediately added motion sensors to our alarm system and had verbal agreements from Ed, thrice over, that we would be reimbursed for them, which we NEVER WERE. Other huge issues with the property: the fact that during my entire 19 months there I could NEVER open a window because the screens were so cheaply put on that they would blow off in a storm or simply hang there. Upon moving out we were given back $170 of our $1000 security deposit, most of which was ILLEGALLY used and violated the security deposit laws of NC. I proceeded to take this company to small claims where I WON the judgment for the erroneous charges, only to be sent a check along with a "bill" for cleaning of the house and cleaning of the carpets, in which NO MENTION OR REQUIREMENT of professional cleaning of home/carpet was required in the lease. I would heavily suggest you do not rent from them, especially if you are a military family. Sherril personally told me in court that this is the way she has been doing things for four years and no one had taken her to court before. Well, that is an admittance of FOUR years of violating many, many, many renters and families. DO NOT RENT HERE.
