CRIME ALERT: Homicide Detectives Investigate Assault

Authorities are seeking information if you recognize the car or individual in the photo posted.

  Cumberland County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are investigating the assault a long distance truck driver. Wael Wael, 46, of Jacksonville, Florida (this is correct – the first and last names are the same) was found lying on the median on Goldsboro Road and exit 58 North in Cumberland County.  Detectives were called to the scene early yesterday morning by a passerby who noticed the victim lying on the median according to Public Information Officer, Debbie Tanna. Wael was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. Anyone who has information in reference to this case is urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 323-1500.

  Cumberland County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are searching for leads in two separate death investigations.  The Sheriff’s Command Post will be stationed on the corner of Cumberland Road and Boone Trail. Detectives hope to gather information about the deaths of Rodriguez Harris and Terrell Boykin. Rodriguez and Boykin were gunned down on Mother Day’s May 8, 2011 outside a mobile home on Donna Street in Fayetteville according to Debbie Tanna, Public Information Officer. Investigators are also looking for information in reference to the death of Michelle Powell.  Her body was found on Kim Street, behind the Boys and Girls Club off Cumberland Road onApril 11, 2013. Tupac Shakur's Former Bodyguard Found Dead in Murrieta Home

At 5:24 p.m. Sunday, Murrieta police responded to a 911 call regarding a possible suicide that had just occurred on Shaw Lane, according to Murrieta police Lt. Tony Conrad.

More Witnesses and Evidence Presented in Mario McNeill's Trial

The jury saw video footage, date and time stamped from the Sleepy Hollow mobile home park from November 9, 2009.

Thursday morning in courtroom 4A evidence continued as witnesses and jurors viewed photographs and video footage. Jurors watched security tape footage from the Sleepy Hollow mobile home park that showed the suspect going into the trailer 1116A, belonging to Brenda Davis, where 5-year-old Shaniya Davis had stayed with her mother before she was reporting missing. The large projector screen where footage was displayed was not facing towards the spectators in courtroom 4A, only able to viewed by the jurors and the legal teams. On the early morning video footage from November 9, 2009 prosecutor Robby Hicks paused the screen shots and asked witness Barbara Davenport if she saw the defendant in the selected track. Crime investigations for two cases surrounding death and assault are underway in Fayetteville.

Homicide Detectives Investigate Death Cumberland County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a Parkton man. Joseph Durant, III, 51, of 2072 Lake Upchurch Road, was found dead in his home late last night. Investigators were dispatched to Durant’s home at around 9:30 p.m. following a 911 call from Durant’s wife.  When deputies arrived on scene, Durant’s body was found lying on the living room floor. Durant’s body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh for autopsy. No further details are available at this time. Shooting Suspect Sought in Fayetteville

Authorities are asking the public's assistance in finding Brandon L. Strickland

  Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives have obtained warrants for the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a shooting that happened shortly after noon in Fayetteville on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Brandon Legrant Strickland, 24, of 2599 Chason Road, St. Pauls is wanted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and firearm by felon. Strickland is believed to have shot and seriously wounded Juwaan Bullock, 25,  of Fayetteville, when the pair became involved in a domestic dispute that turned violent. Bullock suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center via ambulance, where he underwent emergency surgery. Bullock remains in stable condition. Another 82nd Airborne Soldier Found Unresponsive in Barracks Room

Further details are not available and the investigation is underway. Over the past year several other incidents of this nature have occurred and have been kept private by the post personnel.

  An 82nd Airborne Division Paratrooper was found unresponsive in his barracks room here Saturday evening and later pronounced dead. The incident is currently under investigation and no other information is being released at this time.  Spc. David M. Gannon, 34, of West Jordan, Utah, was a grenadier in Company C, 2nd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team according to the Fort Bragg Public Affairs office. “Spc. Gannon was an exceptional Paratrooper and an integral member of our team,” said Lt. Col. Praxitelis N. Opening statements were made to the jury panel of 12 members with 4 alternates present in Courtroom 4A, Monday morning.

  The November 2009 tragedy that started off as a missing person case for Shaniya Davis lasting six days, caught national media attention before it resulted in the rape and death of the 5-year-old Fayetteville girl. The girl's mother Antoinette Nicole Davis, reported her missing from their mobile home on Sleepy Hollow Drive in Fayetteville and is accused of giving the child to Mario McNeill as a drug debt. Mario McNeill's Mental Evaluations Deem He Stands Competent for Trial

Evaluations revealed that the defendant experiences paranormal powers and dreams with special meanings.

The jury panel were set to begin Mario McNeill's trial on Monday, April 22 but it was postponed for the defendant to undergo a mental evaluation due to some strange behavior inside the courtroom.  A team of four psychiatrists corroborated on a final outcome following various evaluations and determined that McNeill did suffer from three diagnosed disorders: schizo-typal, narcissistic, and anti-social personalities. Dr. James Hilkey took the stand Friday morning and testified that he administered an extensive battery of psychological evaluations that included personality assessments, a self-report inventory and even test of malingering.
