VIDEO: America the Beautiful

Fort Bragg's 82nd All-American Chorus sings the patriotic tune.

The singing group of soldiers performs at ceremonies and events not just at Fort Bragg, but around the state and country.  Comprised of 26 talented vocalists, the traveling troupe of a cappella are a local favorite. All serve in regular job details at Fort Bragg, where they also deploy and attend mandatory military training throughout the year. "The prestige and honor that the songs convey as the soldiers sing, and to their fallen comrades as they perform at memorial services is most memorable," said the groups General Manager, Sgt. 1st Class Dale Schrall.  Their smooth harmonic sound can be compared to that of a barber shop quartet. They sing patriotic hymns known by all as well as classic tunes like 'Brown Eyed Girl' and 'Sweet Caroline…

Citizenship Day Celebrated at Vanstory Hills Elementary School

Rousing musical performances by the students was followed up by the 82nd Airborne's All-American Chorus

Friday morning was the 28th annual celebration of Citizenship Day at Vanstory Hills Elementary School in Fayetteville to honor those who serve in and out of uniform. Billy Taylor, the plant manager of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is known for his ability to motivate others and that is just what he did today for students, faculty and families. Speaking to the crowd about his own experiences growing up and how they shaped him to become a good citizen, Taylor challenged the kids and had them chanting in unison by the end of his pep talk. Another treat was the other guests of honor from Fort Bragg, the 82nd Airborne's All-American Chorus.
