Severe weather could hit today

The main threat from these storms will be damaging winds, however there could be a few isolated tornadoes that spin up.

It's been nearly one year since the tornadoes affected many in our area. When severe weather is called for now, residents' ears tend to perk up. Check out NOAA for some tornado preparedness facts. Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds. High near 74. Breezy, with a west wind between 15 and 24 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. Friday Night: A chance of showers before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 40. West wind between 8 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
