President Obama's Security Detail and Crew Arrive

The sleek white government aircraft landed at Pope field shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday and the FAA has issued TFR NOTAMS for all aircraft at specified times on Wednesday.

Pope Field was looking pristine Tuesday afternoon as crews raked leaves and washed down the hangar entrances to prepare for President Obama's visit this afternoon. Aviation training in practice areas surrounding Fort Bragg has been interrupted. A sequence of events involving numerous agencies begin co-ordinations when the Commander-in-Chief flies into town. On Monday the Federal Aviation Administration issued a NOTAM – the quasi-acronym meaning 'Notice to Airmen'. NOTAMs are created and transmitted by government agencies and airport operators under guidelines.
