5 Things Not to Miss

Wrapped up into the Heroes Homecoming events, here are some items of interest to learn more about the past and the people that help make this event great.

Today, 8 a.m., The Montagnard Marketplace exhibit on Hay Street. This village likeness display will have Montagnards telling their stories. Also downtown is the Special Forces Association's display of vintage aircraft, displays and layout of items found in SF A-Camps.

Today, 10 a.m., Recognition of Medal of Honor Recipients at Fayetteville and Fort Bragg. CSM Robert Patterson and Colonel Joe Marm are both local residents who were awarded the Medal of Honor during Vietnam.

Thursday, 10 a.m., Rededication of Vietnam War Memorial on Fort Bragg at the Main Post Parade Field.

Thursday, 11:15 a.m., Honoring the Gold Star Widows of the Vietnam War Era by a special luncheon hosted by Melissa Helmick, wife of the Commanding General, LTG Frank Helmick.

Thursday 6 p.m. - ASOM Film Festival, We Were Soldiers showing and will include fiveguest speakers from the battle sharing their experience and insights.
