Free Bus Service from Fort Bragg to the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 Race

Fort Bragg is so fortunate to have such great support behind us. The USO of NC has four free charter buses for servicemembers and their families from Fort Bragg to the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 26, provided by The Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Soldiers and families from Fort Bragg have the opportunity to be transported to and from the Charlotte Motor Speedway to attend the Coca-Cola 600.  Each bus will accommodate approximately 56 soldiers and family members, free of charge, to attend the Patriot Partners Pizza Party and the Coca-Cola 600!  Any soldier or family member with a valid military ID is eligible, including National Guard, and Reserve.

Registration required!  Please fill out the form here.  All children must have a ticket. Military ID required to board bus.

Schedule for the day’s events:

Each bus will depart Fort Bragg at 0700 hours:  Soldier Support Center parking lot, Normandy Drive, Main Entrance.  Please arrive NLT 0630 hours to board the bus.

11:00 AM            Buses arrive at zMAX Dragway for a special event presented by Papa John’s

2:00 PM               Papa John’s Party ends; Return to your bus to go to the Coca-Cola 600

2:40 PM               Buses depart parking lots to begin the Pre-Race ceremony featuring you and all of the Patriot Partners

3:40 PM               All Buses take a lap around the track for a “Welcome Home” celebration!

4:00 PM               You are dropped off to make your way to your seats in the grandstand.

Make note of the bus name and number to return to after race!

6:00 PM               Race Starts! ENJOY THE RACE!!

Race Ends approx 10:30 PM – Make your way back to your bus.  ALL BUSES WILL BE STAGED ON BRUTON SMITH BLVD.

Here are some items that are confirmed for the Dragway Party:

-          Appearances by; Marcus Smith, Papa John, Joe Teti, Robin Meade, Oliver North and General Walsh

-          Music Performance by; Jamie Tate

-          Pizza; FREE Papa John’s Pizza w/ Water and Sweet Tea.

- Driver Appearances are still be confirmed.

It is a fun-filled day to honor our troops and their families.  Everyone is able to bring a 14″x14″ cooler with anything (food, drinks, etc.) as long as the cooler does not contain glass.  There is so much to see, do – it will be a fun day for all involved.
