Two Fort Bragg Soldiers Died Thursday in Afghanistan
4th Brigade Combat Team loses two Paratroopers
Staff Sgt. Jordan L. Bear, 25, of Denver, Colo., and Pfc. Payton A. Jones, 19, of Marble Falls, Texas, sustained wounds from small arms fire during an attack on their base in Kandahar province. The paratroopers were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team.
“The medics got to my nephew within a minute, minute and a half and he was already gone,” said Lee Bear, the staff sergeant’s uncle in CW2 news report.

According to the report, Bear was thought to be a victim of the recent protests in Afghanistan and was shot and killed.
This was Bear's third tour to Afghanistan and is survived by his spouse, two-month-old son and family.

Bear will be buried in a traditional Indian ceremony later in March.
