Dallas Cowboys Stadium Filled with Mourners for Ex-Navy SEAL Chris Kyle

Kyle and a friend were shot to death at a gun range on Feb. 2. The suspect, Eddie Ray Routh, is believed to have suffered from PTSD.

An estimated 7,000 mourners gathered inside the Dallas Cowboys Stadium on Monday to honor Chris Kyle, according to a Star-Telegram news report.

On Saturday, Feb. 2, Kyle, 38, and friend Chad Littlefield, 35, were shot to death in Texas, at the Rough Creek Lodge near Glen Rose.

Kyle and Littlefield were hosting Eddie Ray Routh for an afternoon of target shooting at the range and were said to have been helping him with his bout of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Relatives of Routh, 25, said he had been deeply troubled and was suffering from PTSD, according to a New York Times report.

In September, Routh was transported to a psychiatric hospital after he threatened to kill himself and his family, and he later told officers that he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, Lancaster police records show, according to a CBS news report.

Kyle's wife had eulogized him and his family had private funeral service separate from the public memorial service. Kyle will be buried in the Texas State Cemetery in Austin on Tuesday. The Patriot Guard Riders have announced that they will escort the hearse from Midlothian to Austin, according to the Star-Telegram news report.

Routh has been charged with one count of capital murder and two counts of murder.
